They say honor the flag
On this Memorial Day
All should hail the red white and blue...

They must not have noticed
The man that I saw walking
Slowly down Asher Avenue...

He wore the flag like pants
Wrapped up lose around his waist
Panhandling with no avail...

Isn't it ironic
That our symbol of freedom
Aided this homeless man so well?
